After the vile demon Diablo was apparently destroyed in Diablo, be prepared for the fight of your life as the hellspawn is back in Diablo II. The warrior who defeated Diablo, thinking he could contain the demon, thrust the crystal into his own skull. Yet the overwhelming fury of the arch-demon, combined with the warrior's fatigue, was more than enough to overpower the helpless man. Diablo immediately twisted the once proud warrior's body into a walking nightmare--you must now stop this new threat.
By some, the first game in the Diablo series was considered limited, containing only three character classes, one town, and a single set of dungeons, catacombs, and twisted crypts to explore. Well, even the most jaded gamers won't find the same problem in Diablo II. Featuring five unique classes, several towns, and dungeons enough to fill four compact discs, this game is huge. Containing the massive assortment of weapons and armor used to wage war upon the undead in the first game--and adding loads more--you won't run up against a shortage of ways to mutilate, massacre, and utterly destroy your competition.
Once again, this newest Blizzard release includes free internet play on the company's Battle.net internet gaming service. But, as cheating was most likely the worst problem with playing Diablo on Battle.net, the team working on the sequel has taken great pains in redesigning the entire game engine from the ground up to eliminate the frustration in fighting unbeatable opponents.

Risen 2 is an action role-playing game from German developer Piranha Bytes, best known for the Gothic series. The storyline finds the nameless hero from the first game on a mission to stop the evil Titans and restore hope to a fantasy world. The game takes place on the southern continent of Arborea, the only locale that has been spared by the Titans. Players will interact with the natives of Arborea, comprised of warriors, hunters, and shaman, members of the Inquisition army, and a band of drunken, shifty pirates who aren't above using "dirty tricks" in a fight.
The combat once again relies on the player's proficiency in edged or ranged weapons (including the new addition of firearms), with the ability to parry, block, and sidestep to avoid getting hit by enemies. Skills to enhance your character are unlocked by first assigning "learning points" to specific areas of interest. Accompanying you on your journey is a gnome named Jaffar, who will scoop up treasure and assist in combat. You can also choose to align yourself with either the natives or Inquisition, each offering a quest line that will shape your character's story in different ways.

Bioware's original space-opera trilogy concludes with Mass Effect 3, in the signature RPG-shooter style of its predecessors. Mass Effect 2 is a role-playing game with an outer space, science fiction setting and action-oriented, third-person shooter play. The game is released as the second in a planned trilogy from BioWare, designed for Xbox 360 and Windows-based home computers. Players resume the role of Commander Shepard, the customizable protagonist of the first game, choosing the hero's gender, appearance, skills, and abilities to match personal preferences and playing styles.
